Introduction to the club

Teams from the Ivanhoe Knights play competition basketball in the various divisions of the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA). We have girls and boys teams for kids from 6 years of age to under 20s men and women. In all age groups we have experienced, intermediate and beginner teams. Our players come from as far away as Clifton Hill, Northcote, Thornbury, Preston, Reservoir, Macleod, Viewbank, Templestowe, North Balwyn, Kew East, Kew and Hawthorn.

Games are played at various times and locations on Saturdays and each team has a one hour mid-week training session. We also run introductory and skills clinics and we have an outreach program into local primary schools. For more information about how the teams, club and competition run, please download
our brochure and read the FAQ.

Registration Day for Winter Season 2012 (April – September)

is on
Saturday 18th of February, 2012
10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Ivanhoe East Primary School,
Warncliffe Road, Ivanhoe East, Melways 31, J9.

All players must be registered on or before this date to be guaranteed of team placement.

We prefer that players take up the option of early registration as this decreases the workload on the volunteer-run committee and helps the club to run more smoothly (as well as receiving a $10 discount per early-registered player).

However, it is a requirement that new players and those requiring a clearance from another EDJBA club must also attend registration day on Saturday 18 February 2012, to measure and order an Ivanhoe Knights uniform singlet and shorts.

Registration day will be held 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Ivanhoe East Primary School, Warncliffe Road, Ivanhoe East, Melways 31, J9,

Registration Cost

The cost of registration is $95 per player, with discounts for siblings. There is a $10 discount per player for early registration if both form and payment are received by no later than Friday 10 February, 2012.

If we have vacancies in some age groups after registration day, we will accept late registrations, however a late registration fee of $25 will apply per player. As the registration period is always the busiest time for our (volunteer run) club, we encourage everyone to take up the convenient early registration option and help the club run more smoothly.

Payment by cash, cheque or EFTPOS is available on registration day itself. When registering early for the $10 discount per player, we accept payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), Cheque and Money Order.

Additional Playing Costs

The cost of an Ivanhoe Knights’ uniform singlet and shorts is not included in the registration fee. You can measure and order uniforms on registration day. See here for more detail about uniform costs. A game fee currently set at $6.00 is required for each Saturday game and further costs may be entailed in purchasing a size 6 basketball (U14 & younger boys and all girls) or size 7 basketball (only boys U15 & older boys), water bottle and appropriate basketball/sports shoes with non-marking soles.

During finals, in addition to the team sheet fee, all players and spectators over 12 years old are charged an entrance fee, currently set at $2.00.
